On March 16th, the manuscript of Amor de Perdição arrives at Livraria Lello directly from Brazil, in a unique exhibition full of history.

The triangle is one of the basic shapes of geometry and is, at the same time, a universal symbol, associated with the Divine Trinity in many religions since Classical Antiquity. Due to its constitution and connection to the number three, the triangle symbolizes the Past, Present and Future and also the link that connects three points of a single story: the love triangle of Simão Botelho, Teresa de Albuquerque and Baltasar Coutinho.

In a unique initiative, this exhibition brings to the public the manuscript of one of the most acclaimed works by Camilo Castelo Branco, Amor de Perdição, written in 1861 in the Cadeia da Relação in Porto and deposited, since 1943, in the Royal Cabinet of Reading in Rio de Janeiro. January.

In 2023, Real Gabinete and Livraria Lello unite to give the most beautiful bookshop in the world yet another enchantment factor: the yellowed pages of the 19th-century novel, painstakingly written two steps away from here, whose lines immortalize the genius of one of the greatest writers of the Portuguese language.

The manuscript will be on display at Livraria Lello from March 16 to November 8, 2023.
